There she is! In all of her single glory!!
The name's Alondra Cerise, but you ladies can call me A.C. I am 24 years old, a young tender if you will! I graduated from college in the Fall of 2011 with a B.S. in Electronic Media Communications with a concentration in journalism. I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and ultimately I am a young woman who's constantly on the move. My dream is to be on television as an entertainment correspondent. Ya know, I often envision myself all dolled up and bouncing with energy on the red carpet. I picture myself with my arm out, stiff as a board with the mic in my hand asking "So, what is it that you're wearing tonight?!" God, I want to do that so badly! I know it will come because I've not given up...but let me take you into my reality. You ready?? Okay here we go...
I just began a new job as a computer teacher at an inner city school, take a moment to pray for me. Before that, I worked as a manager in retail for 15 months in one of THE most superficial companies. I still reside with my parents....it's bitter sweet. I'm in the tedious process of weening myself out of impulse shopping. It's time to stack those bucks! I've just recently decided to go back to school. I said I wanted to be in the best physical shape of my life before I turn 25....thats 6 months from now. I said to myself I'm going to make my OWN opportunities in regards of my dream career. Annnnd to top it all off...I have many more chances of being drunk in a club near you (where ever you are) than being drunk in love! I know I just said a mouthful but that is me in a nutshell. I left out my love for God, but he is the reason I'm able to write this blog in confidence!
I know that at the end of the day, everything will work out in my favor, but as I'm making strides physically, mentally, and spiritually...I figured I'd share with you all my personal experiences and offer some kind of advice. My growth, like everyone I know, has come from my successes and my downfalls. The highs and the lows. I have experienced it all: from depression to unmatched happiness, to being heartbroken, disappointed, blind, down right out of my mind, I've lost myself and found me again....I've been there. I know many of you all have too so I created The Single Woman to celebrate those experiences! All of that contributes to who we are...and it is a beautiful thing. So often we put a negative connotation on being single...but the truth is, IF YOU ARE UNMARRIED...THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE AND IT IS O. FREAKIN'. KAY! Own these years as a season of POWER, GROWTH, INVINCIBILITY!! There are SO many things that we could do to make the proper investments in ourselves so that when we do decide to join forces with a suitable courtier...we will have things to offer.
At this point, I'm all about being the best me I can be. This is my time to be selfish and unapologetic. I OWE ME. I am THE SINGLE WOMAN.
